Mpumalanga Construction was established and registered in 1996 out of an ardent desire to start a black-owned Eastern Cape based construction company with a clear objective to develop into a medium size construction company with time and become a major player in the construction industry in the Eastern Cape. This company is therefore a product of a meeting of minds of black and white contracting and business people to establish a construction entity of this nature in line with the country’s policies of black economic empowerment and skills development and transfer in a way that enables previously disadvantaged individuals and groups to experience meaningful participation in all sectors of the economy accompanied by the requisite skills, knowledge and experience.
Mpumalanga’s Policy of Continued Transformation, in line with Governments requirements, has resulted in black ownership of 52.4% with 38.67% owned by black women.
At Mpumalanga we are extremely proud of our achievements to date, particularly in view of the fact that our Mission Statement stands as strongly today as it did in January 1996:
“To empower and develop the capacity of previously disadvantaged South Africans in the construction industry, thus creating security, wealth and opportunities for the partners, staff and employees by offering construction services on a professional basis in a moral and ethical manner.”
Mpumalanga’s Proven flexibility as a Company provides it with sufficient diversification to undertake any construction project in a professional and cost effective manner.
Mpumalanga has a training program which ranges from basic skills training in construction, to stock control, plant management and general management. Through this training program a number of employees have graduated from hourly paid to salaried permanent staff and it has substantially enhanced the skills of many existing staff members.
